Meet the Creatives

Aubrey Unemori

​Co-Author

Aubrey is a Junior at the University of Washington studying English with Writing Emphasis. She is President of both the Graphic Novel Society and Write Away at UW creative writing club, as well as the Outreach Coordinator of Bricolage Literary and Visual Arts Journal's Issue 37 Staff.
​She is passionate about writing and diversity in media, and hopes to go into the publishing industry after graduation to change the face of mainstream media.

Shaarika is a Senior at the University of Washington studying Informatics and Communication. She is passionate about the arts- she is a musician and loves to write.  Mindful Mansi is a dream-come-true as her first published book. ​Shaarika has practiced meditation her whole life, and is a vocal advocate for mental health and self-care.

Andalucia Curtis
​Illustrator

​Andalucia is a Computer Science and Art Major at the University of Washington. She is currently the lighting and rendering lead for her computer animation capstone, and is the Art Officer of the Graphic Novel Society. Andy specializes in digital painting and this is her first published work.

​Mindful Mansi was created to help address youth mental health through mindfulness. 

​Authors Shaarika and Aubrey were raised in households following Hindu and Buddhist traditions, and recognize the power mindfulness practices have played in caring for their mental health. By planting the seeds of self-awareness in young children, MPower Media hopes to help raise a world of more compassionate, successful, and mindful human beings.
